Megan Chesin, Ph.D., is a professor at William Paterson University in New Jersey, where she has served as the Program Director and Director of Clinical Training for the PsyD program. She concurrently holds an appointment at the Veterans Affairs New Jersey Healthcare System, where she has provided research expertise and clinical training on suicide prevention for 10 years. Chesin holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a Forensic speciality from City University of New York. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in clinical research at Columbia University Medical Center.

Chesin has published 50 journal articles on topics including suicide prevention, suicide risk, mindfulness-based intervention, veteran and military personnel mental health, and social media, opioid use and mental health. She has served as the keynote speaker at multiple state suicide prevention conferences and appeared as a panelist on mindfulness and mental health for the VA Office of Rural Health and the Interagency Veterans Advisory Council. She received the 2016 Young Investigator Award from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), is a consulting editor to Archives of Suicide Research, and a Scientific Advisor to AFSP. Chesin also serves as an expert witness, consultant, speaker, trainer, and media resource on suicide prevention.
