Abigail Powers Lott, Ph.D., ABPP, is a board certified psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine. She serves as Co-Director of the Grady Trauma Project and Clinical Director of the Grady Trauma Recovery Center. In her clinical practice, she treats a wide range of mental health problems, with a particular emphasis on trauma- and stressor-related disorders. Her research focuses broadly on identifying psychological and biological mechanisms of risk and resilience related to stress and trauma exposure on adverse health outcomes across the lifespan and improving trauma-related treatment access and outcomes in underserved urban communities. As a clinical scientist, Dr. Lott works to bridge gaps between scientific knowledge and clinical practice and ensure that research makes its way into the therapy space and is representative and equitable across diverse groups and communities.
